Purpose of Position
- Is a member of the Board of Directors and primary contact with the CWA Bookkeeper. Budget Director attends monthly Board meetings.
- Review Monthly Financial Reports received from CWA Bookkeeper for compliance with CWA's Chart of Accounts and Financial Guidelines. Present reports to the Board at the monthly Board meeting. CWA bookkeeper uses QuickBooks Pro for financial record keeping.
- Manage the money market account including VISA card and checkbook.
- Receive and review insurance policy renewals yearly. Provide insurance audit information as required.
- Create Budget for Board review and approval by October each year. Prepare Annual Report for the Board following close of year business.
- Coordinate with the CWA Bookkeeper to file required tax forms:
- RRP-1 Charitable Registery — Due Jan 15 each year.
- 1099's — required for everyone receiving over $600 yearly for services rendered during the year - Due January 31 each year.
- Board of Equalization — Quarterly sales tax returns.
- IRS Forms 990, 199 — Income tax return — Due May 15 each year.
- Budget Director signs all tax returns for filing.
- Have all checks signed by President and Budget Director for transmittal to the CWA bookkeeper. Reorder checks as needed.
- Budget Director, as a Board member, advises on and supports all financial business within the CWA umbrella.
