Purpose of Position
Serves as Community Outreach representative for group. Promotes and enhances the organization in the community schools. Supervises and executes all matters relating to art scholarship and community Outreach Program activities.
Specific Duties:
- Attend monthly CWA board meetings and general meetings and report Outreach calendar of events.
- Appoint and oversee Outreach committees.
- Oversee allocation of CWA commissions and other budget matters.
- Show Chair for CWA sponsored High School Student Show.
- Administers and documents Community Outreach Programs in schools, coordinates bus trips to National Show, teacher workshops, and other community projects.
- Continue partnership with Diablo Regional Art Association and meet grant obligations.
- Maintain school watercolor supplies and distribute for school demonstrations.
- Organize supply and sale of CWA t-shirts at galleries, general meetings and other organization events.
- Coordinate CWA sponsorship with Alameda County Fair and Sacramento State Fair; jury the awards of watercolor junior art competition, and present awards.
- Keep CWA Publicity Director and CWA Newsletter Editor informed monthly of activities of the Outreach Programs. Write press releases as appropriate and supply photos of Outreach activities for publicity and newsletter use.
- Arrange awards ceremony and photographer at a general meeting for representatives and organizations receiving CWA scholarships.
- Pursue new grant opportunities with grant writer and new Outreach programs, as CWA has time and energy.
