Volunteering Opportunities

CWA VOLUNTEER REWARDS
(Service Hours Earned)
ONE POINT for each volunteer hour you work - even if you have your signature membership.

100 hours: $75 credit toward cost of CWA workshop registration, limited to one per year per member. Only two members can receive this credit in any given workshop. First come, first served.

60 hours: One free National Exhibit Awards Luncheon (if scheduled); or, along with two (2) acceptances in a CWA National Exhibition, apply for Signature Membership; or upon presentation of signed service hours, one year's free membership.

30 hours: One free CWA apron.

5 hours: Rent a display panel. See Forms: Panel Rental for more details.

It is the member's responsibility to keep a record of volunteer service hours by asking for 'Service Hours" slip at the time of volunteering and have it signed by the chairman of the event being worked. You can print a volunteer service hours record from the forms page on the drop down menu on www.californiawatercolor.org. Bring it with you to the volunteer event to be signed by the Director or Chairperson.

General Meeting Volunteering Opportunities

Video Library Committee: 1 volunteer needed to replace our Video Librarian, Cathy Riggs. You will be working with Charlotte Morris. Duties: Come to the General Meetings with the videos and DVDs by 7 pm to set up the table in the back of the room. Computer skills and a good printer is required for printing the forms and sign up sheets. Please email Charlotte at percival55@comcast.net to volunteer. A big perk is that you get to watch as many of the videos and DVDs as you want!
Cookies - Every Third Wednesday of the month, except June and December: Please click here phyllisaw@comcast.net to help make the coffee break special by donating 2 to 3 dozen cookies, etc. (homemade, bakery or store bought) to the next meeting. Include your name and phone number in the email. Also, please include the month in which you would like to bring cookies. Donate 2 or more dozen cookies and receive 1/2 hour volunteer credit. Please bring a volunteer time sheet to record your hours.; Hospitality Assistant
Please email Phyllis, our Hospitality Chair if you would like to be a hospitality assistant. You would come a little early to the general meetings and help Phyllis set up and make coffee and then stay a little while after to rinse out the coffee pots and clean up. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours if you already love coming to our general meetings and free demos each month! Email phyllisaw@comcast.net

2012 will have some open board positions (join the board now and learn from the existing Director): - President; - Vice President/Director of the 43rd National Exhibition; - Program Director; - Budget Director; - Outreach Director

CWA Outreach Volunteering Opportunities

If you are interested in being an Outreach volunteer Artist,: Please click here, outreach@californiawatercolor.org to volunteer - include your name and phone number in the email. Or call (925) 934-5957, FROgard Butler our CWA Outreach Coordinator, will discuss with you, how much fun and rewarding it is to teach painting at the planned monthly outreach programs and projects in our communities! The kids love it and the teachers, scout leaders and community organizations love it too. Please consider volunteering for this. CWA keeps our tax exempt status because of our Community Outreach. This is very important to our association.
