About the
Artist I enjoy doing whimsical paintings of people and landscapes. The portraits are usually based on a real person but are highly stylized so usually do not accurately portray the person, only certain features of the person, such as the nose, eyes or hair. The landscapes are fantasies with blue, red or yellow trees and orange rocks, usually any color but the natural color. I work with ink, which gives me a boundary in which to apply color. I am not entirely
self taught in the art field. My father was a commercial artist but I chose not to
follow in his footsteps until later in life. I have taken drawing and painting classes and
workshops with artists in the San Francisco Bay Area and Oregon. Recently, I moved to
southern Oregon where I continue work with a local watercolor artist. |
