the Artist "Groups of stylized figures, generally in motion are the subjects in many of my paintings. Children on recreational swim teams offer an endless variety of composition in which to play with light and shadow. Portraits that are more-than-portraits are one area I specialize in. I attend a sports event to take photos of a particular family or person. |
Soon after that, a surprise painting appears as a gift from one family member to another. A record is made and given of not only a family member, but of a certain moment in time. Most recently I have been doing a series of antique automobiles - everything from Model T's to 1937 Dodges. Reflections of other antique autos often appear in the image of the vehicle, making a kind of image within an image." |
